How to become a Real Estate Agent

Are you considering a career in real estate?  Thinking you might like to learn how to become a real estate agent? A good place to start would be by interviewing an experienced professional agent to get all of your questions answered. We’d be happy to sit down with you and help!

Selling real estate has very little to do with what you see on HGTV – it is a professional sales career with a number of educational requirements and plenty of mandatory training.  The primary courses are done as a home study – we’ve seen people complete them as fast as 3 months when they dedicate full time efforts to it but most people take a year or 2 in their spare time too go through the licensing process.

Once the licensing process is complete then you have to choose a brokerage to work under.  You do have to work under a broker to begin with although many agents move to gaining their own broker designation and then can then go out on their own and start an independent brokerage.

The Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS® currently administers the education for licensing in Saskatchewan – here is a link to their site explaining the courses required and the costs involved.
